The Geek Chic Cowl!

January 2021 is done and we are already into the second month of this year! Hoping all of you are well and staying safe, taking precautions and being careful. This year definitely brings a lot of hope and positivity and I send all the good vibes to you!

I’m so excited to release my first pattern of the year, The Geek Chic Cowl!!

I had the absolute pleasure and wonderful opportunity to collaborate once again with Elisabeth of Desamour Designs for the winter design and bring to you The Geek Chic Cowl Pattern. It is an absolutely unique and fun design and a must have accessory for the winter and spring.

Concept

The Cowl not only looks chic but totally gives you the sexy librarian vibe. It is a collared Cowl that is so versatile that it goes with any outfit.

The design concept began with trying to elevate the regualr cowls with a touch of elegance. Thus began the thought process to combine a collar with the cowl. The design integrates a winged collar with a mock turtle neck, the end result giving a refined appearance.

Yarn

I have made 2 samples, one in Vardhaman dropill and the other in Lionbrand Mandala, however any DK weight yarn is perfect for this project.

Sizes

The Geek Chic cowl is Size Inclusive and is designed for all adult sizes from XS all the way till 5XL.

Detail

The design of the cowl carefully constructs the winged type of collar. This provides for a neck section, which helps for the collar to sit right on the neck / chest area. The collar also has a stylish edge due to the corner detail in filet crochet. This not only elevates the design but also gives it the chic quotient.
